In virtually all cases the installation of new countertops will require you to choose new backsplashes. The Backsplash is often overlooked and taken for granted, yet they can make a very personal statement with your beautiful new granite countertops. Adding a custom backsplash is a special and personal addition to your dream project.
What are your options?
Your first option is to go without backsplashes. While the most cost effective option, your walls will become soiled over time from food splashes or from your cleaning rags.

The second and most common option for backsplashes is 4" tall. This provides the protection your wall needs, adds color and depth to your design at a reasonable cost.

A third option is a full height backsplash which provides for additional protection, design consistency, or additional color.
Underneath bars or behind stoves, they can be impressive as they
usually the first thing people see when entering the room. They
can add considerable cost to the project because of their total square
feet and often necessitate cutting out holes for outlets and
switches. One of the unique advantages Granite & Quartz
Countertops has over many of its competitors is we have the ability to
custom fit them the same day we install your countertops. Most
fabricators have to wait till they have installed your countertops to
fabricate your full height backsplashes in order to get a proper fit,
adding significant time to your project.
A fourth option is custom tile work in place of a granite backspash. Most customers should look at this as an option to be more creative with their backsplash. There is an amazing array of tile options on the market today and an infinite number of designs. Consider mixing tile shapes, sizes and orientations and look at creating borders and special designs behind cook-tops to add additional flair and elegance. If you are a "handy man" you may choose to do the tiling yourself or select from many local craftsmen to complete your project.
